Friday: Nouns, Pronouns, and Adjectives QUIZ! Fiction Elements Notes
Accelerated Reader (AR): Students need AR Points each 9 weeks. They should have an AR book and should be reading it at home. They will then need to take quizzes on the computer about the book they read. Students should have a purple assignment sheet that gives more detail about this for this 9 weeks.
AR Points Due Date: September 28th
Read Works: www.readworks.org is a fantastic website for students to practice some of these skills for language arts class. Students will have to register, but it's FREE. They can then select from non-fiction and literature passages about MANY topics they are interested in, from sports to history to science. They can also choose particular skills they need extra practice on, like main idea, theme, and so on. This is a great site to practice reading and skills! One of the best parts is that each passage comes with its own questions and answer key.
Read Theory: www.readtheory.com is another great website for students to practice reading. This one doesn't give students as many choices as the above site, but it gives students short passages, questions from three categories of reading, and gives students answers with explanations of WHY each answer is correct. This too is a great site for students to practice reading!
